About Us
I started Traction & Rolling Stock Advertiser in 1999 after finding no other advertising media at an affordable price, particularly for the heritage railway market.
Having spent a lifetime involved in railways, starting at the age of 10 riding on ex-GER steam locomotive on the Mildenhall branch and later as a Maintenance Supervisor for British Railways. I was very early a volunteer on heritage railways including working on the North Norfolk’s locomotives at March before the railway took control of the Sheringham to Weybourne line. Some years later being one of the founders of the Mid Norfolk Railway and later on Operations Manager for Bressingham Steam Museum. Over the years I have purchased, sold, re-railed, hired and moved many locos, coaches and wagons and supplied countless parts, so when you submit an advert at least we know what you are talking about. Originally aimed at the heritage market we now receive many calls and advertising from what was regarded as the main line companies. Other markets are people and organizations looking for railway items and vehicles as features or for accommodation. We have also supplied and located for many large feature films.
Administration and some phone answering is done by my wife Davina and we pride ourselves on answering your call quickly and giving you the service you expect.
